Visitng Homemaker Service Reaccredited with "Distinction."
Washington, NJ – May 1, 2008 – The Board of Trustees of the Commission on Accreditation for Home Care has reaccredited with “Distinction” Visiting Homemaker Service of Warren County for its Homemaker-Home Health Aide services.
Accreditation involves an extensive evaluation and review process to insure that home care agencies in New Jersey are maintaining strict, defined standards. Once accredited, agencies must undergo annual monitoring visits to insure compliance with these standards. Distinction is awarded only when a Provider has demonstrated an ongoing pattern of full compliance for a minimum of 2 consecutive monitoring years.
The Commission on Accreditation for Home Care was established in 1986 to promote and enforce quality assurance standards for home care in New Jersey.
According to Lita Talbot, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, “The Commission on Accreditation for Home Care develops Standards, evaluates the implementation of the Standards and accredits agencies that are in compliance with those Standards to ensure the delivery of high quality home care to the communities in the State of New Jersey. Visiting Homemaker Service has maintained their high quality of service for 19 consecutive years and has been in full compliance with all standards set by the Commission. The consumers of Warren County are fortunate to have access to an agency that provides such quality care.”
Visiting Homemaker Service, a non-profit organization, was established in 1966 and receives partial funding through the Warren County Division of Senior Services and United Way of Warren County. Accreditation involves an extensive evaluation and review process to insure that home care agencies in New Jersey are maintaining strict, defined standards. Once accredited, agencies must undergo annual monitoring to insure compliance to the standards. Re-accreditation is awarded annually to those agencies maintaining strict standards of quality home care.
The Commission on Accreditation for Home Care was established in 1985 as a major initiative to promote and enforce quality assurance standards for home care in New Jersey. The Commission works on behalf of the public not only to provide a rigorous accreditation process for agencies but also to increase public awareness on the importance of using only accredited agencies. Visiting Homemaker Service has been accredited since March 1989.
The mission of this agency is to provide quality in-home care to any Warren County resident who is permanently or temporarily unable to perform normal activities of daily living due to illness and/or physical or mental disability. Through the placement of a trained and RN supervised Certified Home Health Aide, we preserve dignity and encourage independence which will enable frail, elderly and disabled clients to remain at home as long as safely possible. With the physical and emotional support of our staff, households are kept intact and clients and families are guided toward independent living. Our service also provides caregivers with a necessary and much-needed break from the 24-hour responsibility of caring for a loved one.
